So this one should really be called Family Friday - Saturday - Sunday.
Friday was our usual end of the week, do nothing night...Dinner and Myth Busters!!
Saturday morning Ashton and I got up and volunteered to help another church in our community with their monthly Food Give Away. It was amazing! There was a flat bed trailer of cases of food that we packed into bags and boxes ready to give away. Plus, while they were there to pick up the food they had hot dog, hamburgers, chips and bottled water they were more than welcome to. We started at 9am and the food was mostly gone by 11am. It was really a blessing to be a part of something like that in our community, and good to let Ashton start understanding that not everyone has it as well as we do. But, it was sad at the same time to see that much food go to that many needy families in MY community so quickly. I am so very thankful for Restoration's ministry.
After the food was all gone, Ashton, Mom and I grabbed a sandwich and went to the "Barney" Park to eat. They have just opened a new set of playground equipment that just HAD to be "checked out".
Then we roll into Saturday Night and our Church Christmas Party! Now - did anyone bring a camera or take pictures of all of the great food and good fun we had? NO! But it was a blast. A lot of work for me as Kitchen Krew - but I guess I have too much of Grandmama in me...I LOVE IT! Feeding all those people just makes my heart happy! And then we played Jeopardy...All I have to say is REALLY? A 500 point question could rightfully be about the purification sacrifice that Mary & Joseph had to give after Jesus was born...but NOT what food did you have to bring to carolers!!! (2 (turtle)doves & Figgy Pudding, respectively)
Sunday morning and church, then lunch at Ops, and a photo shoot at the Tabby Ruins with Zane, Sabrina, Elissa, Ashton and myself (mostly the kids-they are so stinking cute) since we were all dressed up in our Christmas finest. The pictures of the kids are going to be SO GOOD! I cant wait to see them!
So now we get ready for THREE WEEKS off from school and work! What, oh what, are we going to do with ourselves? Hmmm...Zoo, Christmas Gift Exchange, Baking Day, Christmas Eve Party, Christmas Day, Grammy Jerry, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day...I think we can come up with something to keep us busy!
